چکیده
PMGCT stroma and vessels within the yolk sac tumor component of these tumors. It can be further speculated that expression of hematopoietic growth and differentiation factors in some PMGCT could drive the differentiation of primordial germ cells into hematopoietic progeny. The differentiation factors involved may be responsible for the preferred commitment of the transformed precursors to megakaryocytic and monocytic lineage. Additionally, in a few cases of PMGCT-associated leukemia in which the immunophenotype of the leukemic cells was compared with that of the intratumoral hematopoietic precursors, a comparable result was observed. This suggests a spread of hematopoietic tumor cells from the PMGCT to blood, bone marrow, and/or extramedullary sites. The median time for the development of hematologic neoplasia associated with PMGCT is 6 months (range, 0 to 47 months). The clinical course of the hematologic neoplasia is very aggressive with a median survival of 5 months (range, 0 to 16 months) after diagnosis. Hematologic malignancies occurring in patients with PMGCT are thought to be primary, and not therapy related. In some cases, immunohistochemical and cytogenetic evidence (especially presence of i12p chromosome) had previously suggested the clonal relationship between the PMGCT and the hematologic malignancy. As in other previously reported cases, the short interval between the PMGCT and the occurrence of the hematopoietic malignancy argues against a therapy-related origin of the acute megakaryocytic leukemia. There have been two reported cases of PMGCT complicated by acute megakaryotic leukemia, one presenting with an extradural mass and the other with organomegaly. However, our patient is the first, to our knowledge, to be ever reported in English literature of a PMGCT evolving into an extramedullary acute megakaryocytic leukemia manifesting as a mass causing cord compression. Furthermore, the aggressive course of the acute megakaryoblastic leukemia involving the CNS with sparing of the bone marrow is striking.

Malignant Meningioma with Lumbar Spinal Metastasis (a case report)
Meningioma is considered as a benign central nervous system tumor that accounts for approximately 18% of all brain tumors. About 5% of meningioma tumors are malignant and have more aggressive clinical signs and worse prognosis compared to benign tumors. Extracranial metastasis of meningioma is rare but in the case of occurrence, it is more prevalent in lung, liver and lymph nodes. Osseous metas...
متن کاملMeningioma: A false positive finding of metastasis from prostate adenocarcinoma using 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT scan
A 73-year-old man with history of prostatic adenocarcinoma radical prostatectomy underwent 99mTc-MDP whole-body bone scan and subsequent 68Ga-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligand PET/CT for restaging due to a gradual rise of prostate-specific antigen levels. Whole-body bone scan showed two focal zones of slightly increased uptake in the right fronto-par...
متن کاملMalignant transformation of recurrent meningioma with pulmonary metastases.
A patient presented with a histologically benign intracranial meningioma which, after multiple recurrences, underwent malignant transformation. The patient survived 18 years following initial presentation. Pulmonary metastases were present over the final 8 years. Eleven subtotal resections of the meningioma were performed, including exenteration of the right eye and a thoracotomy. Radiation the...
متن کاملA very rare case of metachronous multicentric giant cell tumor of bone with benign lung metastasis in form of a very large mass lesion
Giant cell tumour (GCT) is a benign, locally aggressive tumour of the bone that accounts for 5% of primary bone tumours and 21% of benign bone tumours. This tumour more commonly presents as a single (solitary) lesion; however, it may appear with multiple (multicentric) lesions in less than 1% of the cases. According to the literature, 1-9% of solitary GCTs metastasizes to the lung, more commonl...
متن کاملCase Report: Iatrogenic Seeding of Tumor Cells in Thigh Soft Tissue Upon Surgical Removal of Intracranial Meningioma
Introduction: Meningioma is a benign and slowly-growing tumor that is responsible for 20% of brain neoplasms. It can be accompanied by some genetic disorders such as neurofibromatosis type 2 and is more common among women. As a space occupying lesion, it produces a wide range of signs and symptoms by compressing the adjacent and underlying tissues in the brain. Trauma and vi...
